A Time for Rest
ByThis weekend may only be half over but already it is working a charm. Ok, well that may not make a lot of sense but to me it does.
This weekend is the first weekend in more than six months that I have spent an entire weekend alone. It’s not because of anything bad and it’s not due to a lack of offers but I felt that I just needed the time. Sometimes when we get busy we soon forget to look after ourselves. I am one of those people who needs quiet time to regroup and energise.
Isn’t it amazing how we get ourselves so busy that we forget how important it is to spend time alone. But there is nothing quite like that feeling of waking up knowing that you have nothing to do. Your body knows it to because that’s when you get the best sleep. I mean it’s not entirely a lazy weekend. I am working a little on some things that need to be done for work and also to organise myself for some upcoming personal projects.
But the relaxed state has added so much clarity. It has helped me find clear direction and to begin to feel myself again. The next few months will be a busy time both personally and professionally. As different things get going I will update you. Life is very good at the moment and will be even better as this year progresses. The key is rest. Enjoy life but remember to allow yourself the time to recuperate. Balance is what life is about.

Your first weekend alone for 6 months? Crikey… I’d have exploded in that time. I need time to think, and whilst I wouldn’t want to do it every day, there’s nothing better than having a whole day to yourself and not having to talk to anyone apart from the guy you buy a coffee from! Anyway, hope the rest of your weekend was good!
